As soon as I saw this cute LET’S GO FAST BACKGROUNDS AND BORDERS created by JD DIGI DESIGNS I immediately thought of my boys.  They love cars especially race cars!

I thought it would be a fun idea to create an interactive placemat for them.  I don’t how many times my boys have asked “is it ready yet?”  This is a fun way for them to wait at the dinner table and play with their mat. The borders and roads worked out perfectly.

To make it interactive I decided to use the LET’S GO FAST cars that they could race on the track with.  To create the mat I simply laid out the graphics on a standard 8×5 x 11 area on my computer, then printed out on cardstock. Before printing I made sure the cars fit well on the track.  

After I printed out the cars I laminated them then trimmed.  I was lucky enough to some stands laying around I could use for the cars.

This just adds a fun twist to a normal placemat idea.. Make it interactive!!

Idea for girls: Get creative and take a look in our SHOP for graphics and backgrounds you can use for your own placemat creations.  I did a quick search for a girls idea and I found that you can use this FAIRYTALE PRINCESS clipart set along with this DOTTED LINE PAPERS set. Create a sweet treat with plenty of of yummy possibilities! Candy is always a great gift for all occassions.  The above gummy treat is a great idea for kids party favors, or center pieces.  Clear party cups can be used.

Gift Idea:  Most of us usually have glass jars around the house. Fill it with candy & tie a bow around the rim.  Create round label for front.

Gift Idea: Using a  plastic strawberry container, create your label and affix it on the front. Fill with your favorate candy or chocolates. Use one of the pattern papers and affix on top of container. Finish it off and tie a ribbon around container.
