Introducing tools for photographers!
MYGRAFICO just added a photographer tools category on our shop. Overlays, Papers, Brushes and more, now all in one place, and geared just for photographers!
Today’s featured examples I used FLORAL OVERLAYS by SCRAPBOOKING SEASON. Overlays are so nice, because you have many possibilities in your layer effects and blending modes. I find that I use overlay and multiply the most, then experiment with the transparency to get the desired effect. With the portrait, I thought it would be fun to make it appear more vintage, so I took the saturation down and added a bit of noise.
Using overlays is a really easy process. All you need to do is open up your photograph then place the overlay on top of your photo in a different layer. Then use the blending mode of your choice, Multiply, Overlay, Luminosity etc.. Then play around with the transparency until you are happy. That’s It!!
Tip: to keep the focal point of your photo clean and crisp when using overlays, take a soft photoshop brush and erase the overlay around the area that you want to jump out. This comes in really handy when you have skin tones or a flower like this one that you just want the background to be grunged up.
